The Autumn School

The aim of these school is to give an overview on the mathematical results on interacting particle systems, from their microscopic description towards kinetic approximation.

Several phenomena can be described in this modelling framework, from natural systems such as cells, swarming dynamics, chemical compounds, organisms or crystals; but also in human artifacts, for example in market economies, crowd dynamics, vehicular traffics, opinion formations, wealth distributions, networks, cybernetics or artificial intelligences.

In particular the topics of the school will cover rigorous limit from ODEs systems to PDEs, numerical methods for kinetic equations, optimal control theory, and uncertainty quantification.
